About

Soprano Katie Hahn is an emerging artist residing in Philadelphia, PA. Katie studied at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where she obtained a master’s degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy. She also attended Temple University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance. In the 2023-2024 season, she performed with Opera Philadelphia as a Substitute Chorister in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra at the Academy of Music.

Katie's repertoire demonstrates versatility and includes opera, musical theater, and art song from various musical eras. A natural performer and "stage animal," some roles Katie has performed include Venus in John Blow’s Venus and Adonis, Cendrillon (cover) in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Flora in Britten's The Turn of the Screw, and Beth (cover) in Mark Adamo's Little Women.

Additionally, Katie teaches voice lessons and currently holds a position as Voice Faculty with the Settlement Music School. As a voice teacher, she encourages students to cultivate consistency and provides tools for students to improve their singing through deliberate practice. She believes in establishing personalized goals with students to be achieved through healthy vocal habits.

As an advocate for the arts, Katie works with the non-profit organization Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership as a Music Teaching Artist. The STEAM After-School program gives students the unique opportunity to learn from artists in their community.
